Website design for a four star city hotel in the heart of Veliko Tarnovo.
Rooms, events, spa and the sights of the old capital.

The client
Grand Hotel Veliko Tarnovo is a four star hotel in the centre of Veliko Tarnovo, with 92 rooms and apartments, a conference centre for 250 guests, more than 2000 m² of spa and fitness, and a restaurant for 220 guests.
Our role
We designed the website. This case study shows the design we created for the hotel.

The challenge
The hotel sells very different things to very different guests: city breaks, weddings, conferences, holiday packages and spa days. The design had to keep all of them easy to find, in Bulgarian, English and Russian, and carry the premium feel of a hotel set in a historic city.
What we designed
- A navy and gold visual language with a classic display typeface, in line with the hotel’s brand and the old capital around it.
- A homepage hero with the hotel’s key figures, followed by rooms, the restaurant and the spa.
- An events selector for Christmas, New Year, weddings, corporate events, proms, Easter and weekends for two, each with its own visual and enquiry route.
- A sights section that shows how far each landmark is from the hotel, with distance rings and a photo for every place.
- Room and offer pages with a request button on every offer, a full screen menu with the three languages, and a contact page with a form and a custom map.
The outcome
A complete, ready to build design for every key page of a large city hotel, from the first impression to the enquiry.
